On Friday 10 February 2017 37 students from Year 10 and 11 along with Mr Parr, Mr Ritchie, Mrs Joslin and Mr Warden and their families set off on the 24-hour trip to Aprica in Italy for the annual school ski trip.
After a long journey and quick ski fit everyone went to bed ready to start lessons bright and early on Sunday morning. All groups apart from the skied before group, began to learn the basics on the nursery slopes. The short walk from the hotel back and forth for lunch meant the groups made great progress over the next few days, leading to everyone using the lifts to the top of the mountain and skiing the long blues and reds down. The top group managed two difficult blacks towards the end of the week which was fantastic. The week finished with the slalom races where Chris Sheppard was top of the school!
Evening activities included a fun treasure hunt around the town, bumboarding down the flood lit nursery slopes and some scary ice skating in the town.
The group really worked hard over the week to improve their skiing and everyone made great progress.
A big thank you to all the staff involved.
